What is a CBT?

A CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course teaches you to be proficient motorcyclist in all areas of theory, practical and motorcycle safety.

Once you have successfully completed all areas of the basic motorcycle course; this typically takes 1 day, you will be legally able to ride motorcycles, moped’s or scooters up to 125cc.

[cue clapping and applause]

Am I eligible?

As long as you are 16 and over, and be in possession of a valid U.K. licence (full or provisional), then you’re good to go.

Do I need a motorcycle?
‘Get My CBT’ provide high quality motorcycles for training, as well as helmets and gloves.
You are welcome to bring your own however the cost of using ours is included in the training.

Moped, Scooter or Motorbike?
Mopeds are 50cc, Scooters can be higher cc and are classified as a motorcycle.
At Get My CBT we train you on either a 50cc moped, which has no gears (and is otherwise called a twist-n-go).  Alternatively you can train on a 125cc geared motorcycle – we use Yamaha YBR125cc and KTM Duke 125cc.  All our bikes are maintained to a very high standard and are perfect to learn on.
